Hawai‘i’s leading health care information organization

Our vision is to create a healthier Hawaii through leadership and excellence in health data, acquisition, management and analysis.

Our mission is to collect, analyze and disseminate statewide health information in support of efforts to continuously improve the health of the people of Hawai‘i and the quality and cost-efficiency of healthcare services.

A private, not-for-profit corporation established in 1994, HHIC maintains one of Hawai‘i’s largest healthcare databases. HHIC’s unique strength is the ability to generate comparative information using the extensive records in this database. In addition, we analyze relevant state and national databases to create population-based reports, performance measures, norms and benchmarks. As an independent organization, HHIC brings both objectivity and the required expertise to enable health care facilities, health plans, public and private organizations and communities to make the most of the data available, both locally and nationally.

Core Values:

Integrity (Trust)
HHIC is uncompromising in its adherence to professional and ethical standards. By maintaining a neutral role in data transactions and with strict adherence to privacy and security standards, HHIC is trusted by all healthcare parties and is a unique resource to the greater community.

Quality (Accuracy, Validity and Reliability)
HHIC ensures accuracy and reliability through its data quality control system and continuous development of in-house expertise.

Responsiveness (Timeliness)
Timeliness is important to decision-making for Hawaii’s healthcare providers. HHIC consistently seeks new ways of providing information quickly and reducing turnaround time. Customer service and response are intrinsic to HHIC operations.
